Our fabulous handcrafted rooms are an ode to the traditional crafts of Andhra Pradesh. This is the first time that Tholu Bommalata (leather shadow puppetry), Budithi brass work, Kalamkari pen art and Etikoppaka toys have been used together to create an evolved aesthetic expression that is befitting of a setting in which our guests can be comfortably and leisurely introduced to these fascinating crafts. Since each artifact snugly tells a story of beauty, dignity, form, style and aesthetics, the hotel weaves a quaint tale of Andhra’s history.

Tholu Bommalata which literally means "the dance of leather puppets" (Tholu – leather, Bommalata – puppet dance) is a shadow puppet theatre tradition of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India that originated 2000 years ago. The artisans who craft these gorgeous puppets are also skilled performers, bringing stories from Hindu mythology to life. Apart from the translucency and vivid colours, what gives these puppets their brilliance, is the perforated designs drawn on the characters to depict jewellery. Once surrounded by colour and viewed against the light, they look like glowing jewels.
